So I just arrived back from going to the movies with Lisa, Henry and John.
It was fun. It’s late and I am tired and I feel like I am going to crash right on to my bed but I thought I should capture today’s moment before I decide to crash.
So Lisa came to pick me up at my dorm after driver for over an hour to get to my dorm because it was snowing and thus, traffic. Afterwards, we had to wait for Henry and John to arrive home so Lisa and I went to get the tickets. All the shows were sold out including the midnight showing except the 11:50PM show. So we purchased those tickets and the ticket tender told us to go an hour early to start lining up outside the theatre (to enter). As I was hungry we went to this new restaurant nearby called, Shoeless Joes and bought some fries (which were surprisingly pretty good) the restaurant had a baseball theme and all the employees there were wearing baseball jerseys and pretty friendly.
After Lisa and I went quickly to line up (we were an hour early) and to our surprise the line outside the theatre to get into watch the movie was already REALLY long, so we lined up and were all the way down the hall, around the corner and pass about 20 more people and there we were. Sitting there waiting of course, occasionally we moved a little, not because they were letting people in but because the security guards were implementing boundaries and trying to fill up all the gaps in the line.
Going in we got really good seats, they were high up and centered and for all of us, that many people it was a pretty good deal.
Afterwards we went to a Chinese Dim Sum place that was opened 24 hours and be honest their food was not that great but yet they had a lot of people which I take it is because it was opened that late and 24 hours.
So in general it was a pretty good day and although the movie wasn’t fully up to my satisfaction it was indeed the best Harry Potter movie made to date. I only hope that the actor playing Dumbledore will tone it down a bit for the coming movies and that they are more constructive as to what to cut out of the books when transfering them into movies. Truthfully, they would have been a lot better off having two movies after all – the books only keep getting longer from here on in.
So this was slightly my birthday gathering. It was fun. I am going home to tomorrow. Surprisingly I can’t wait. I really want to go to Costco and maybe have my mother bake the cake mix I’ve been having here sitting in my dorm since school started.
